Todd Hewitt is the only boy in a town of men. Ever since the settlers were infected with the Noise germ, Todd can hear everything the men think, and they hear everything he thinks. Todd is just a month away from becoming a man, but in the midst of the cacophony, he knows that the town is hiding something from him -- something so awful Todd is forced to flee with only his dog, whose simple, loyal voice he hears too. With hostile men from the town in pursuit, the two stumble upon a strange and eerily silent creature: a girl. Who is she? Why wasn't she killed by the germ like all the females on New World? Propelled by Todd's gritty narration, readers are in for a white-knuckle journey in which a boy on the cusp of manhood must unlearn everything he knows in order to figure out who he truly is.

Why Read: This was recommended by a book tuber from TheReadables, check out her channel. You will enjoy watching her.
What I Like: Uniqueness of the story or the plot is one thing that I enjoyed from this novel especially the part that characters can read everyone's thoughts is very interesting to me especially if you put yourself into their world. Nothing is hidden. Scary! The world building at first was a bit hard to see but eventually it will pick up, I was able to grasp it. There was still a lot of hidden mystery within the world and the characters that helped me read more of it. I could say that this was a creative story on a intellectual level, its dark and even deeper when you get to the ending that will make you want to get the next book fast!
What Disappointed Me: The pacing was a bit slow for me. There is a time that I got bored with it and had a bit of a hard time going back to it again.

Fantastic! I'm more of a words and symbols when it comes to covers thought I would prefer the other book covers of these their more creative but none the less I still like it.
